Bumblebee Transformer cake
Select your template
Start by selecting your template. I found one that prints nicely and adjusted it for the size of my cake. Once you print it you can cut out your fondant.
Make your Bumblebee Transformer cake
My customer selected a vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream and vanilla frosting. We’d cover the entire cake with yellow fondant and then apply the design. Your steps.
Bake your favorite vanilla cake recipe in the size you need. My cake is 8” round.
Allow the cake to cool and prepare your frosting. Color your fondant if you are using white fondant as a base. I recommend using Fondx fondant.
Once you cover your cake you are ready for all the finishing touches to bring your Bumblebee cake to life.
Using your template, cut out a face image that is just a bit larger than the template. This allows you some space as you cut out the individual components of the mask. Once they are all cut, lay them out and dust them with silver luster dust. Carefully lay them on the top of the outline of the mask.
Embellish the cake by cutting black strips to go over the entire cake as shown in the pictures below. Once they are laid on the cake you can gently lay the mask on the top of your Bumblebee Transformer cake.
To finish the Bumblebee Transformer cake, pipe a black border on the bottom and add a Happy Birthday banner on the side. For my banner I used the same gray base that I used for the mask and piped on the message using the black buttercream frosting.
