Frequently Asked Questions

I ordered for my Cornell or Ithaca College student, how does college delivery work?

In the order form, I had you give me the address for delivery and a cell number to reach the recipient or a friend. I will text them the day before to schedule delivery. When I arrive, I’ll text them and have them come out to meet me.

My college student has a busy schedule. How does delivery work in that situation?

I typically deliver after my work day. Depending on the season of the year, this is either between 4:30 and 6:30 or sometimes a little later. If the recipient is not available during these hours, sometimes I can work something else out. Typically it works out to have a friend receive them instead.

My college student lives in a dorm with a mini fridge. What do you recommend?

I suggest going with cupcakes, cookies, cookie cake or brownies. This makes serving easy.

How and when do I pay for my order?

I will send you an invoice by Square mid-morning on your delivery day. You can pay this with Venmo or with credit. If you are picking up, you may also pay with cash or check when you pick up

I prefer to pick-up my order. How does that work?

I operate Emoticakes out of a commercial kitchen space above my garage. If it works best for you to pick up your order, I am happy to have you do that. Contactless pick-up is available.

I placed an order and I live in a private house. Is the delivery still the same as for college dorms?

If you live in a private house with a doorbell, I deliver to your door. I will usually still text when I arrive.

I placed an order and I would like candles, plates, or napkins to go with my order. Is this an option?

With enough lead time, I can do this for you.

I would like balloons to go with my order. Do you offer balloons?

I do not currently offer balloons with orders.
