Egg Substitutes

There are so many choices available when you need to bake egg free. Here are just a few tips and tricks for you if you want to substitute out eggs for a recipe that contains eggs.

 

Egg Substitutes. Each choice listed substitutes for one egg. Note that all not substitutes are appropriate for all recipes. If a recipe uses a lot of eggs, be cautious in your substitutions.

  • 1/4 cup of buttermilk

  • 1/4 cup of carbonated water

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons of fruit puree

  • 1 tablespoon Chia seeds and 3 tablespoons of water

  • 2 heaping tablespoons potato starch and 2 tablespoons of water

  • 2 heaping tablespoons arrowroot and 2 tablespoons of water

  • 1 heaping tablespoon of soy flour and 2 tablespoons of water

  • 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed and 2 tablespoons of water
